Track Tryouts – SAVE THE DATE

24 01 2019

Track Tryouts will be Saturday, February 2nd at Carver High School from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on the Carver Track and on Monday, Feb 4th, from 4 p.m. until 5:15 p.m. on the Floyd Football Field. The Track roster will be posted by Wednesday, Feb. 6, no later than Thursday, Feb. 7th. Students will need a combined of 2.5 GPA from the first semester here at Floyd if they are in the 7th Grade to Try-Out and a combined GPA of 2.75 from the first semester if they are in the 8th grade.

If a student attended a different school last year in their 7th-grade year (ex. if your child went to Brewbaker, Carr, Bellingrath, Goodwyn, Capitol Heights, Dunbar-Ramer, McKee or Southlawn in their 7th Grade year and they are current students at Floyd for their 8th-grade year), then they ARE NOT eligible to run track for Floyd.

For those kids who do make the 2019 Track Team, we will have our first practice on Monday, Feb. 11th from 4:00-5:15 p.m. and a parent meeting following practice at 5:30 in Rm. 248. All fees ($180/ to include a $50 non-refundable activity fee) and sizes will be due by Friday, Feb 22nd. Spirit packs will be ordered Tuesday, February 26 in anticipation of them being back before our first track meet.

Our potential first Track meet will be at Vestavia Hills Middle School in Vestavia Hills, AL on March 8th.

All track practices will be at Carver High School unless otherwise stated. We will need parental support to transport all track and field athletes to Carver if they make the roster. Parents will pick up their children from practice no later than 5:15.

Save the Date: PTSA Dance (Feb 1st)

19 01 2019

SAVE THE DATE: The PTSA will host a DANCE on Friday, February 1st from 6:00-8:00.

Students are invited to wear dressy attire, NOT formal. Young gentleman MAY choose to wear a sports coat and tie. Or, they MAY choose to wear a collared shirt with no tie. Young ladies MAY choose to wear a dress. THIS IS NOT A FORMAL!

As always, students may choose to dress casually. ONLY FMMS students are invited to attend the dance. We will use the same DJs we used for the last dance, and all music will be appropriate for middle school students.

The theme will be revealed by the dance committee shortly, but I wanted to give y’all an opportunity to shop.

I hear Dillard’s has some great deals on dresses, girl parents. See you there!

10 12 2018

Hi, Panther Parents,

The Staff Luncheon is on Wednesday, December 19th from 12:00-1:30. We are seeking volunteers.

You may sign-up on the Floyd MMS Sign-Up Genius by clicking this link:
